Horn of Africa airline officially started operations today in Mogadishu. The airline has received all the necessary approvals from the Federal Government of Somalia in coordination with AMISOM. Its inaugural flight was to Kismayo at midday today.
The airline is expected to operate daily flights to Kismayo, Baidoa and Beletweyne originating from Mogadishu.
Horn of Africa has previously been operating flights in Somaliland and Puntland. This new operation willgive citizens access to regions that have previously been inaccessible due to insecurity and infrastructural problems. It will also greatly assist with emergency evacuations.
The airlinethanked AMISOM for the immense security gains they have made and their efforts in assisting the government of Somalia and the Somali people in building a secure stable and prosperous Somalia.
