Somalia’s traditional elders who appointed the current members of parliament have sent an outcry over threats facing them.
One of the
elders, Suldaan Eydaruus Suldaan Saalah told Risaala Radio in Mogadishu that
the elders are coming under increasing threats from targeted killings.
Suldaan Eydaruus
lamented and condemned the killing of fellow elder in Mogadishu’s Wadajir District,
2 days ago.
The Elders have played a crucial role in
building the current government where they were tasked with appointing members
of parliament and representatives who later passed the new constitution.
