EU antipiracy mission is to unveil new strategy to combat and curb piracy off the Somali waters.
Piracy had flourished in the region in the past years, endangering
international maritime trade and tourism.
However a sharp drop of piracy attacks and high-jackings have
being reported in 2012.
Currently, international naval forces are stationed in the
Somalia waters to participate in the operation dubbed Operation Atlanta.
However, pirate groups in the region deny that their
activities have being hampered and insist that they will carry on with their
illegal activities.
The new combat strategy against pirates is scheduled to be unveiled on New
Year day.
