Puntland Security forces have today arrested more than 100 people in a major operation they conducted in Galkaayo town.
The arrested were linked with various security threats and
some are believed to have masterminded major criminal offenses in the volatile
town.
Mohamed Sandaq, the head of the Police department in
Puntland, confirmed the arrest to Risaala Media.
However, Mr. Sandaq said that after preliminary
investigations, majority were released except 11 people who are still under detentions
for further investigations.
Galkaayo has before witnessed several executed assassinations
and other major criminal offenses.
