France has pledged to donate 1.3 million US Dollars to Somali refugees in Dhadhaab and Kakuma Camps in Kenya and also those in Ethiopia.

The money is intended to help refugees who recently fled Southern Somalia due to famine and wars.

The money will be channeled through the International Organization for Migration, IOM.

The head of IOM for Somalia branch, Ali Abdi expressed confidence that they have the ability and intention to distribute the money among the intended poor people in these camps.

There are more than 1 million Somali refugees living outside the country and at least another 1.5 million living in IDP camps in the country.
