Al-Shabab Islamist group in Somalia has vowed to escalate its engagement with the African Union Peacekeepers, AMISOM.
The group’s spokesman, Abdi Aziz Abu Mus’ab told the media
that his fighters have clashed with Djiboutian troops in Baladweyne, Central
Somalia.
He claimed victory in that encounter and pledged to
intensify such attacks.
Al-Shabab has being on the back foot recently, losing a
string of key strongholds to AMISOM and the Somali National Army.
