Uganda has urged the International Community to increase its financial aid to Somalia so as to speed up the stabilization and the reconstruction processes.
Dr. Crispus Kiyonga, Uganda’s Minister for Defense, made the
statements while addressing hundreds of Somalia soldiers who concluded military
He highlighted the need for Somalia to establish key state
institutions and security.
He said a standing, well trained and well equipped army was
crucial for Somalia to be able to stand on its own feet.
Dr. Crispus also praised EU’s efforts to train Somalia
forces in Uganda and he also called on others to follow suit.
